The Mezuzah - Shadai

Mezuzah comes in varieties of design however one thing in common they have the Hebrew Alphabet Shin meaning Shadai the ever presence of Elohim, the scroll is usually written by professional Torah scribes on lamb skin, the above Hebrew acronym is shin dalet yuh found at the back of the scroll meaning Shomer dalat Yisrael

Hear, O Israel, the L•rd is our G•d, the L•rd is one. You shall love the L•rd, your G•d, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your resources. And these things that I command you today shall be upon your heart. And you shall teach them to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you go on the way, when you lie down and when you rise up. And you shall bind them as a sign upon your arm and they shall be an ornament between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

And it will be that if you hearken to my commandments that I command you today, to love the L•rd, your G•d, and to serve him with all your hearts and all your souls. And I will place rain for your land in its proper time, the early and the late rains, that you may gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil. And I will provide grass in your field for your cattle, and you will eat and you will be satisfied. Watch yourselves, lest your heart be seduced and you turn astray and serve other gods, and prostrate yourselves to them. And the wrath of G•d will be upon you, and he will restrain the heaven and there will be no rain, and the ground will not yield its produce, and you will be lost quickly from upon the good land that G•d gives you. And you shall place these words of mine on your hearts and on your souls, and you shall bind them as a sign upon your arms and they shall be ornaments between your eyes. And you shall teach them to your children to discuss them, when you sit in your house and when you go on the way, and when you lie down and when rise up. And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates, in order to prolong your days and the days of your children upon the good land that G•d swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of Heaven over earth.

E for Etrog Learn a Hebrew word

אֶתְרֹג

In Hebrew, the citron is transliterately known as the etrog meaning love and attraction in Talmudical Aramic, The Arabic name for the fruit itranj اترنج is also cognate with the Hebrew; the itranj is mentioned favorably in the Hadith. It is one of the Four Species used during the holiday of Sukkot each fall. The role of the citron in that holiday was portrayed in the Israeli movie Ushpizin. Citrons that have been bred with lemon (in order to increase output per tree and make the tree less fragile) are not kosher for use as part of the Four Species.

The citron (Citrus medica) is a species of citrus fruit. The citron is slow growing about 2-4 year and mostly grown near the Mediterranean, parts of India, and in Central and South America.

In Tamil, the unripe fruit is referred to as 'narthangai', which is usually salted and dried to make a preserve. The tender leaves of the plant are often used in conjunction with chili powder and other spices to make a powder, called 'narthellai podi', literally translating to 'powder of citron leaves'. Both narthangai and narthellai podi are usually consumed with thayir sadam.

The East Asian citrus fruit yuzu (also called yuja) is sometimes called a citron, it is actually a separate species, Citrus junos.

Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Sapindales
Family: Rutaceae
Genus: Citrus
Species: C. medica

Recommendation : Hebrew Word Pictures

Hebrew Word Pictures
Dr. Frank T. Seekins, who has spent 12 years developing and arranging the archaic Hebrew letters into a complete concept that is both enlightening and heart warming.

What is a word picture?

* In ancient Hebrew, like in Chinese and ancient Egyptian, every word is formed by adding pictures together to "paint" or illustrate the meaning of the word. A word picture is a word that is described by pictures.

* You don't have to be able to read Hebrew in order to understand and to
use this book effectively when you read the Bible.

* When Hebrew was first written, each letter represented both a sound and a
picture. Even if you or the people you teach are not familiar with the Hebrew
sounds and have no experience with this language, the pictures you see inside the words will speak for themselves.

Why is Hebrew Word Pictures are important to believers?

"Every so often, something comes along that can help move your spiritual life into
high gear. I'm convinced that Frank Seekins' concept of "Hebrew Word
Pictures" is such a concept. With so many books and conference about
biblical principles, this one can help you better understand and love God's Word
itself.
As someone who's studied "word pictures" for years, seeing them come
alive in the very letters of Scripture is like adding color to a classic movie. I highly
recommend it for anyone interested in gaining a deeper love and understanding
of the Scriptures.

John Trent, ph.D
Author, Speaker
President of Encouraging Words

Hebrew Word Pictures is used in many seminaries across the country, in Bible
study classes, by individuals seeking a deeper level of understanding their
Christian heritage, and by parents homeschooling their children.

A word from the author

"I believe that the Hebrew word pictures were designed by God as a tool for
Biblical discipleship and teaching his holy words. One constant response I hear, is
that the Hebrew word pictures create a new hunger for what the Bible teaches.
What I love about the Hebrew word pictures is that they draw people back to
the Bible.

This is not an ordinary book that you read and then set aside - Hebrew
Word Pictures is a guide for life that shows new things in your life as times
goes by and you experience new events that you test with the Hebrew
word pictures.
"

We now carry the new version of the book. It has 60 new pages with many
Hebrew examples and references, plus the book includes an Audio CD that will
help you learn the word pictures and hear all the examples on your home
stereo.
